Long Island Fastpitch
Team Nitro Long Island Fastpitch (TNLI) is an elite fastpitch softball youth organization based on Long Island, New York. We are made up of numerous teams from the 10U level through 18U Showcasing. TNLI employee Head Coaches that do not have a child on the team. We have both College and High School head coaches on staff as well as many of past TNLI players that have since completed their college playing careers and have returned to give back to the younger generation.
We specialize in getting players recruited to play softball in College via the vast amount of coaching experience at the 18U level. We have placed over 90 players in college programs over the past 10+ years and some 37 in just the past 3 years.
Our motto is Education through Athletics. We strive to teach both the game of softball and the game of life. The girls achieve this via activities both on and off the field of play.
Team Nitro LI is in it’s 21st year of existence and we have been a driving force in the LI Fastpitch community for most of them.
It has been our pleasure to have helped so many shape their future endeavors by providing such a positive and impactful fastpitch softball experience.

Tryouts 2026 – Open Tryouts have Concluded
Private Tryouts Now Available
Open tryouts have concluded, but we still have a few positions to fill. If you are a committed and dedicated softball player looking to be the best, consider joining our Team Nitro Family. TNLI teams are coached by professional non-parent Head Coaches. Roster sizes are kept to a minimum to maximize playing time.
TNLI has its own dedicated indoor facility that is used throughout each season and during its elite winter training program.

🥎 Team 16U Select – Looking for an Outfielder and a Pitcher born in 2010, 2011 or 2012

🥎 Team 10U – Looking for an experienced Catcher

Rhiannon Scott – We Play For You Memorial Tournament!

Team Nitro has dedicated itself to carrying on the memory and legacy of Rhiannon Scott. She left a permanent and everlasting imprint on our organization and the LI softball community.
Rhiannon, you will never be forgotten, you are our Angel watching over us. To this end, Team Nitro has retired number 44 in her honor. This number will always belong to Rhiannon and the Scott family.

Team Nitro in association with USSSA is proud to announce the 5th Annual We Play for Rhiannon Memorial Tournament on Sept 12 & 13, 2026. This will be a 2 day, play to win tournament for all age groups (12U thru 18U). Proceeds fund the yearly Play for Rhiannon Scholarships handed out each year. To date over $20,000 has been handed out over the past 10 years.
The primary scholarship goes each year to a senior graduating from Farmingdale HS where Rhiannon would have graduated. a second one (Community Scholarrship) to a Senior from any team that plays in the yearly tournament. A third (Team Nitro Scholarship) to a senior that has played in Team Nitro and last year a fouth one (Honorary Scholoarship) to Rhiannon sister who has dedicated every year to the Tournmant and helping in keeping her sisters memory alive.
Details are on how a player can apply for the scholarships are provided in the spring of the following year and are handed out in the June timeframe.

Play for Rhiannon 2025-26 Scholarship Winners
Join us in Congratulating the 2025-26 Play For Rhiannon Scholarship Winners. We are Happy to Announce a total of four (4) $1,000 Scholarships were handed out (for a total of $4,000 this year and over $20,000 since inception). One to a senior at Farmingdale High School, where Rhiannon would have played and graduated from, one to a Senior who played in the 2025 Play for Rhiannon Tournament, one to a Senior who played for Team Nitro LI and lastly a Special Honorary Scholarship.
Deanna Ziegler – 9th Annual Farmingdale HS – Winner
Congratulations to our Winner of the Play for Rhiannon Memorial Scholarship – Deanna Ziegler – Farmingdale High School Seniors. Deanna will attend the University of Notre Dame majoring in Architecture. Best of luck Deanna!!!
Kate Garvey – 7th Annual Community Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Kate Garvey our $1,000 recipient of The Play for Rhiannon Community Scholarship. Kate’s travel team (Chiefs Fastptich Vega 18u) played in our tournament last Fall. Kate will attend McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with a concentration in their Arts & Science Program. Best of luck Kate!
Sarah Caltabiano – 2nd Annual Team Nitro LI Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Sarah Caltabiano (Team Nitro 18u Gold) recipient of the 2026 Team Nitro Senior- Play for Rhiannon Memorial Scholarship. Sarah is headed to Susquehanna University playing collegiate softball with the River Hawks and will be studying Exercise Science. Best of luck Sarah!
Hailey Scott – Team Nitro LI Honorary Scholarship Winner
This year Team Nitro awarded a special honorary scholarship to Hailey Scott, the youngest sister of Rhiannon Scott, who has every year dedicated her time and love to ensure that the Annual Play For Rhiannon Tournament was a success.
Hailey played softball at Farmingdale HS to feel closer to her biggest role model Rhiannon, her sister.
Hailey will attend the University of South Carolina majoring in Public Health.
Best of luck Hailey! We have no doubt Rhiannon is so proud of you carrying on her legacy!
88 STITCHES
On December 15, 2022, Coach Caz along with business partner Heather Pomilio, a Tincher-based Fastpitch Pitching Instructor opened the doors to a brand new Fastpitch Training Facility on Long Island called 88 Stitches. Then on May 20, 2024, we expanded the facility by opening a second side with up to 4 additional cages. The facility is located at 74 North Industry Court in Deer Park. It is a facility that is configurable up to 8 cages and will be used by Team Nitro LI as it official training center and hitting facility.
We have a vast line up of Fastpitch training instructors available to conduct individual/group lessons to both Team Nitro LI players as well as non-TNLI players. Having this facility available as a primary facility for Team Nitro LI Players and Teams will allow us to elavate our programs and further distiquish TNLI as the premier Fastpitch organization on Long Island.

About Coach Caz
Anthony ‘Coach Caz’ Casalino has been teaching and training Girl’s Fastpitch Softball for over 18 years, the majority of this time at the highly competitive travel ball levels.
